  • Booking an appointment

We operate a telephone assessment system for all GP appointments:

Please phone our reception on 0207 274 4507 between 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday and you will be offered a telephone consultation with a GP.  This will be the earliest appointment available but may be on a different day.

Alternatively use our Online Appointment System to book a telephone appointment with a GP. If you don't yet have an account please contact our reception team who will be pleased to help.

PLEASE NOTE: GPs may call you up to 21.00 during busy periods. The number may come up as unknown. The doctor may only call you once depending on workload. If you have voicemail the doctor will leave a message unless you have requested us not to leave messages.  If you still need a call please contact the surgery to reschedule your call. If you think you have not been contacted within 2 days of your telephone appointment or if you feel your condition has become more urgent and you cannot wait for the call please contact the surgery. If you know you are unable to answer your phone at certain times of the day, please make this clear to reception when arranging your telephone consultation.

    • Instructions for booking an appointment

If you are able to give brief information about the reason for your call this will help us to prioritize your call if necessary. PLEASE NOTE: GPs may call up to 21.00 during busy periods

A GP will discuss your problem with you and either deal with your problem over the phone or agree an appointment with the appropriate person for you. The GP may direct reception to book a face to face appointment without calling you

Please let the receptionist know if there may be any problems for you to take a call when you book

If you feel your case is urgent and cannot wait for your telephone consultation please explain why to reception and they will draw it to the doctor's attention. Depending on their assessment and demand you may receive a call earlier than your allotted consultation

If you wish to speak to a particular GP please let reception know

You may be offered an appointment at one of our local partner (Hub) practices when we have reached our capacity for the day

If you find you are unable to attend your hub appointment please call the Access Hub Cancellation line on 07378 604 214. This line is not able to receive text messages and is available from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and 8am-8pm on weekends.

    • Nurse / Healthcare Assistant / Pharmacist Appointments

Nurse and Healthcare Assistant appointments (e.g. Cervical smear tests, Asthma checks, Stop Smoking, Blood pressure check, Diabetes checks) can be booked directly with reception. Alternatively you can book some of these online. Pharmacist telephone appointments are available for medication queries and reviews. These can be booked online or by phoning the surgery.

We feel our system helps you to be seen by the right person at the right time. As the NHS is experiencing a period of restricted resources, please help us to help you.  There is increasing evidence to support this appointment system, you can read more about it at www.gpaccess.uk

If you wish to see a particular health professional please tell the receptionist.

Please let us know if you wish to cancel your appointment.

Please understand that if you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you may be asked to rebook.

Telephone calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes.

    • Home visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor will phone you back to discuss your situation. It may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to arrange for another healthcare professional such as a nurse or healthcare assistant to visit or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

    • Interpreting Services

Please inform the receptionist if you will need an interpreter when you make your appointment. This can be arranged for most languages. The surgery usually uses interpreters over the telephone.

    • Over 75s

If you are on multiple medications, we may recommend you see a Health Care Assistant every six months. If you have not been seen at the surgery within 12 months please request a check up with a Health Care Assistant.

Requests for home visits from frail elderly patients are reviewed by the GPs and are available if appropriate. Please see our Home Visits information (below) for further details.

    • Teaching

We are a training practice so have a GP trainee working with us. From time to time we also teach medical students and other health care staff.
